RTO Terminal Services Scalability Study
Part 1: The Effect of Citrix Presentation Server 4.0

Performance and scalability are essential for your terminal services farms. However, an understanding of the true scalability of the terminal services or Citrix Presentation Server environments represents the Holy Grail for terminal server architects planning roll-outs in such environments. Unfortunately, most testing environments fail to comprehend many of the effects of the complex interactions in each of these environments, and do not accurately reflect the true scalability.

Therefore, we set out to conduct a series of scalability experiments which were carried out in three parts. PART 1 of the series was focused primarily on determining the overhead for terminal services clients running desktops. It compares Remote Desktop (RDP) clients and Citrix Presentation Server (ICA) clients while also taking into account the overhead for resources used by Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 (MPS4.0) once it is installed on a server. • PART 2: focuses on how RTO TScale™ handles memory optimization to substantially increase scalability for terminal server environments.
  • PART 3: focuses on how RTO TScale optimizations scale virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.

RTO TScale is put to the test.
A Product Evaluation Report

Read about the results of a real-world RTO TScale product evaluation which was conducted for Corporate Synergies. RTO TScale demonstrated its ability to help increase virtual memory utilization and improvements in application scalability and performance. This report also includes the measured savings TScale achieved in the virtual memory usage for specific applications, including PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, SalesLogix and more. What the SOA Revolution Means for Data

A number of new technologies are shaping and influencing the structure of tomorrow’s real-time enterprise IT infrastructure. Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is one of the key drivers. Because of the criticality of databases in SOA models, monitoring them is not only necessary but vital to ensure sustainable performance of the service infrastructure as a whole. >Read: Full Article was published in Database Trends and Application, May 2007.
