Kevin Goodman, President/CEO News from RTO Software

Welcome to the latest edition of RTO Software’s newsletter!

The highlight for this edition is Desktop Virtualization as we wrap up VMworld 2009 which was held last month in San Francisco. This year’s theme was “hello freedom”–where VMware showed all the latest innovations that give the IT community increased freedom from conventional computing constraints.

This year VMware turned their attention to the desktop. At the beginning of the keynote on the second day, VMware announced its OEM agreement with RTO Software that slates RTO Virtual Profiles for eventual inclusion in VMware View. VMware recognized Virtual Profiles as an invaluable application that completes the virtualization of user data in a VDI environment.

Some other VMworld highlights:

  • Cool Breakout Session: Daniel Beveridge with VIRTERA hosted Efficient VDI design – The Math Behind VDI Design where he showed VDI users how to understand risk and measure design efficiency.
  • VMware revealed that they have over 1 million VMware View desktops deployed.
  • Even in this down economy, VMworld drew in a large attendance of over 12,500 people at this year’s event looking for new technology and innovation to help them do more with less.
  • Brian Madden covers more show highlights on Brian Madden TV #17: VMworld 2009 wrap-up

Visit our website and learn more about RTO Virtual Profiles. We recently released Version 2.0 and have some great new features for you.

Have a great day!
